"Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity...
do not neglect the gift that is in you..." (1 Timothy 4:12 & 14)
Youth are a vital part of the ministry and mission of LAC. Through worship, fellowship and service, we empower youth to become faithful disciples. We invite all middle school or high school youth to come and be a part of the LAC community.
Worship: We hope that every youth will feel welcome and a part of our Sunday morning worship services at 10 am. Sunday School is offered for middle school youth through 8th grade, where they will discuss questions of faith and study Presbyterian church history. High school youth are invited to be a part of our adult worshipping community, remaining in worship for the entirety of our service. Youth with musical interests and talents are encouraged to share those gifts during worship, through singing, playing instruments, readings or through skits or dance. As worship is the central act of our community, we hope that all youth feel welcome to participate fully in our service.
Fellowship: Fellowship is an important part of our time together. Middle School (TGIF) and High School (SHIFT) meet twice monthly for a time of fun, games, and discussion about faith, as well as to work on regular service projects. Each time we gather we share a meal and learn to live out our faith together.
Service: Both TGIF and SHIFT are committed to living out a life of service. TGIF service projects include fundraisers for one or two special causes chosen each year. We participate in the set up for the youth Midnight Run each year, and we regularly bag groceries at the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force - a local food bank. SHIFT service projects include going on the Midnight Run, An international mission trip to nicaragua, as well as short and longer mission trips in the domestic US.
SHIFT (Senior High Faith/Fun/Fellowship Time)
SHIFT is at the heart of our Senior High Youth Ministry. We meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Wednesdays to share pizza, our lives, and our faith. We play games, have discussions, and reflect on what it might mean to be a faithful teenager growing up today. Sometimes we watch movies or clips that are thought provoking, sometimes we read scripture, every time we pray - for our world and each other. We hope all who come to SHIFT find a community of real teenagers, engaged in trying to make our world better, living out the life we are called to as disciples of Christ.

Have you found your rhythm?
Do you know what makes your life 'click'?
Do you know the people in your life who help it to all go smoothly for you, or the people who seem to disrupt it?
What throws your rhythm off?
Having too much to do...or not enough?
How do friends and family work as back-up to the concert of your life?
How does money or "stuff" work for or against, your rhythm?
Let's find our Groove together...
