Memorial Hospitality – The church provides a memorial hospitality service for all LAC members. While the Deacons procure all necessary foods, additional help is needed for set-up, serving, and clean-up at the receptions. This requires no more than 1–2 hours of your time, and is greatly appreciated by all.
Food Connection – Volunteers from the congregation are connected to those members in need of meals for reasons of illness, births or deaths in the family. All that is required of volunteers is to cook an occasional simple meal for one of our families or members in need.
Hope Food Pantry – Larchmont Avenue Church donates and delivers food and household supplies to the HOPE Community Center twice a month. HOPE then distributes these items to needy families in the Westchester community. The church is looking for anyone who can donate a bag of groceries twice during the year. (You will get a reminder, so don’t worry about forgetting the date!)
Blood Drive – The Deacons sponsor one or two blood drives at the church each year. A donation of blood is a gift that money can't buy – and a real need. Five million people get transfusions each year – that's one transfusion every two seconds. Help is needed in two ways: (1) from anyone who can give blood, of course; and (2) from anyone who can help on the day of the drive to make the process run smoothly.
Parish Care – The Deacons coordinate visits and calls by LAC members to other members of the congregation who are unable to attend worship services or otherwise could benefit from our support. If you are able to visit with these members – in person, or by phone – your help is welcome!
